Clemson, SC – Due to the destructive tornados that tore through Tuscaloosa, AL on Wednesday, the University of Alabama women’s rowing team has had to cancel their trip to Clemson this weekend. The Clemson women’s rowing team will now hold a three-race intra-squad regatta Saturday morning, beginning at 8:40 am.
The public is welcome and there will be live audio play-by-play at the Clemson Rowing Boathouse.
“We are going to have some great battles between our 1st Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 at 8:40 am, then our 3 fours will race at 9:00 am, and we will finish the morning with our Novice 8 racing our 3rd Varsity 8,” said Clemson head coach Robbie Tenenbaum.
“Our hearts go out to the students at Alabama,” Tenenbaum continued. “All of us at Clemson wish them the very best.”
The Tigers will be taking donations to give to the Red Cross to help the victims of the tornados. There will be a Red Cross bucket at the entrance to the boat bay.
