CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s soccer team will play at East Tennessee State Monday night at 7:00 p.m. at Summers-Taylor Soccer Stadium in Johnson City, TN.
Clemson has a 5-8 record overall this season. The Tigers have a 2-4 mark in the ACC. Brynjar Benediktsson has six goals and three assists for 10 points this season for the Tigers. Austin Savage has four goals and two assists for 10 points. The Tigers have won two of their last three matches. The Tigers upset 14th-ranked Boston College on October 14. After a loss to Furman, the Tigers defeated Adelphi 2-1 last Friday night.
East Tennessee State has an 8-5-2 record overall. They are 2-4-1 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Bucs lost to Mercer 1-0 in Macon Georgia on Saturday night. Aaron Schoenfeld leads East Tennessee State in scoring with six goals and three assists for 15 points. David Geno has six goals and two assists for 14 points. Geno has scored four game-winning goals for the Bucs this season.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams on the soccer field. East Tennessee State defeated the Tigers last season 1-0 at Historic Riggs Field.
Clemson will play host to Maryland on Friday, October 28, in the Tigers last home match of the 2011 season. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. This match will be shown on Fox Sports South.
