CLEMSON, SC–The Clemson men’s soccer team will play #4-ranked Maryland on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at Ludwig Field in College Park, MD.
Clemson has a 3-6-2 record overall and a 0-2-2 in the ACC. Maryland, ranked fourth in the country, has an 8-2-1 record overall and a 3-1-1 mark in the ACC.
Clemson’s K.C. Onyeador, was named ACC Player of the Week for his performance against Gardner-Webb and Boston College last week. He scored one goal and had an assist in Clemson’s 5-0 win over Gardner-Webb and had the Tigers’ lone goal in a 1-1 tie with Boston College.
Three players, Riley Sumpter, Tommy Drake, and Nick Burton, all have scored six points for the Tigers this season. Sumpter leads the team in goals scored with three.
In goal, Clemson’s Cody Mizell has a 0.95 goal allowed average. He has 44 saves this season.
This will be the 50th meeting between Clemson and Maryland on the soccer field. The Tigers lead the overall series 30-18-1. In games played in College Park, MD, Clemson leads the series 12-10.
