Clemson to play host to Furman Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

CLEMSON TO PLAY HOST TO FURMAN FRIDAY NIGHT

CLEMSON, SC–The Clemson women’s soccer team will play host to Furman at 7:30 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.

The Lady Tigers are ranked fifth by Soccer America in the latest poll. Clemson has a 2-0 record this season with upset wins over Texas and Texas A&M.

Clemson is led in scoring by Kelly Schneider, Paige Ledford, and Lindsay Browne as all three players have one goal and one assist each.

This match is designated as the One Clemson, Solid Orange event. All Lady Tiger fans are to show their spirit and wear Orange for the match.

Admission is free. Last year, over 4,120 fans, a state of South Carolina record to watch a women’s soccer match, attended the inaugural One Clemson…Solid Orange event as the Tigers downed South Carolina 1-0. Clemson teams were 13-3 in 2003-04 One Clemson…Solid Orange events throughout the year.

Last year, at the final One Clemson…Solid Orange event of the 2003-2004 season, the Clemson University Athletic Department presented a check in the amount $ 39,015 for the One Clemson Fund. The proceeds from the One Clemson…Solid Orange events are to be used for specific One Clemson academic efforts. The One Clemson concept recognizes the strength of unity in everything we do as a University. The One Clemson Fund supports the University’s academic goals that will further enhance the ability of Clemson University to make for a stronger South Carolina and nation.
