Clemson To Face Northwestern In NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s tennis team (20-8) will face the Northwestern Wildcats in the 2005 NCAA Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, GA. The match is slotted for 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 19. The Tigers, the 12th overall seed in the tournament, advanced to the round of 16 with 4-0 wins over Furman and William & Mary in the first and second rounds, respectively.

The Wildcats are the fifth overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and have compiled a 26-2 overall record this season. They bring a 15-match winning streak into the Championships, including victories over Valparaiso and Notre Dame in regional competition.
