Clemson Tied for Third after Two Rounds at Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational

CLEMSON, SC – Sophomore Crawford Reeves recorded consecutive rounds of 69 to lead Clemson to a 571 team total for 36 holes on Monday at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational in Aiken, SC. The Tigers stand in a tie for third place in the field of 18 teams with that 571 score.

Alabama has the lead with a 565 score, while Liberty is second at 569. Clemson and Virginia are tied for third at 571 and defending champion Chattanooga is fifth at 574.

Reeves scored in the 60s in consecutive rounds for the first time in his Clemson career and stands in second place in the individual race at 138. All-American Bud Cauley of Alabama is first at 132.

Jacob Burger is Clemson’s second best player after two rounds with a 143 score after rounds of 73-70. Corbin Mills, Clemson’s best player entering this tournament in terms of stroke average, had a 75 in the first round, but improved to a one over par 71 in the second round on Monday.

McCuen Elmore had a solid 71 in the first round, then had a 76 in the second round. Thomas Bradshaw, playing in his first career tournament, had a solid 72 in the first round, a round that included a team best six birdies. He had a 77 in the second round and stands at 149 after 36 holes.

The 18 team field will play just 18 holes on Tuesday to conclude the tournament that is being played at the Palmetto Country Club in Aiken, SC.
