Singles competition saw Cristina Mayorova, Daniella Medvedeva, Ali Despain, Samantha Buyckx and Lana Sipek win their matches and advance to the second round, to be played later today. In total, five Tigers won their singles match on the opening day of competition.

“Overall, it was a great first day of competition for our team” said Head Coach Christy Lynch. “It’s great to see where we are at right now against some of the best schools in the nation. It was nice to see Ali (DeSpain) close out her match the way that she did, playing with a lot of conviction. We will look to continue to improve each day throughout the weekend!”
