Clemson Soccer Players Named To Academic Team

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson Men’s Soccer Players, Mike Potempa and Nathan Rawlins were both named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Academic All-America Team as announced by the NSCAA Friday.

Potempa was named to the first team, while Rawlins was named to the second team.

Potempa (Hunt Valley, MD) a defender, was named to the NSCAA All-America Second Team last month. Potempa started all 80 matches he played in during his Clemson career. Rawlins, a defender, (Lithonia, GA) finished the 2000 season with two goals and two assists. Both players are seniors.

CLEMSON MEN’S SOCCER PLAYER NAMED ODP ALL-AMERICAN

SAN ANTONIO, TX–Clemson Men’s Soccer Player, Chase Hilgenbrinck was named an Olympic Development Program (ODP) Adidas All-American.

His selection came at an inter-regional tournament in San Antonio, TX which involved 72 of the nation’s top 18 and 19 year old soccer players. Hilgenbrinck played on the Region II team. Hilgenbrinck will be a sophomore next season at Clemson. He is fromBloomington, IL.
