Clemson Rowing’s Second Varsity 8+ Boat Named ACC Crew of the Week

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson rowing team’s second varsity 8+ boat claimed this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week honors for its performance at the Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, OH. This is the third time this season that the 15th-ranked Tigers have received the honor. Clemson’s varsity eight was selected as crew of the week on March26 and April 9.

The second varsity 8+ finished second in its morning race and won its afternoon race at the Buckeye Invitational. Clemson posted a time of 6:47.49 as the Tigers defeated Kansas and #19 Michigan State in the morning race but lost to ninth-ranked Ohio State. In the afternoon session, Clemson defeated #11 Iowa and Kansas with a time of 6:47.49.

The ACC Crew of the Week is comprised of Mary Catherine Manning and coxswain Emily Kuivila.

The Clemson rowing team returns to action this Saturday at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships in Oak Ridge, TN.
