Clemson, S.C. – After finishing fourth at the Palmetto Intercollegiate this past weekend, the Tigers return to the course as they head south to tee off the FSU Match-Up from Feb. 26-28. The three-day, 54-hole event will feature a 13-team field on the par 72, 6,255-yard Seminole Legacy Golf Course in Tallahassee, Fla.
Clemson will travel the same lineup that highlighted the first two events of the spring, consisting of Ivy Shepherd, Alexandra Swayne, Savannah Grewal, Gracyn Burgess, and Annabelle Pancake. Junior Lindsay May will join the team and play as an individual, the first individual competing for the Tigers this season.
The 2019-20 showing of the FSU Match-Up, which was held at the Bay Point Golf Club in Panama City, Fla., was the last event played by the Tigers before the remainder of the season was called off due to COVID-19.
Clemson finished T3rd in the tournament, its second-best finish in the shortened season behind the season-opening T2nd at the Schooner Fall Classic. Ana Paula Valdes powered the Tigers through their lowest scoring round of the tournament with a one-over-par score in the final round, bringing her into a tie for eighth place across all individuals.
In their last outing at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, the Tigers secured two top-10 finishes from Ivy Shepherd (T6th) and Alexandra Swayne (T9th). The ninth-place finish by Swayne would be the first top-10 finish of her career. The junior fired rounds of 80-71-74 to finish the tournament at nine-over-par.
