Clemson Ranked 19th in Preseason Golf World/Nike Coaches Poll

Clemson, SC – Clemson is ranked 19th in the nation in the preseason Golf World/Nike Coaches poll for the 2009-10 season. The Tigers return just one starter from last year’s team that was sixth in the final regular season poll. Ben Martin, a finalist for the US Amateur last weekend, is the loan returning starter.

Other top Clemson players this year are expected to be Luke Hopkins, Jacob Burger, Alex Boyd and freshmen Crawford Reeves and Corbin Mills.

Clemson opens its season on Friday, September 11 at the Carpet Classic in Dalton, GA. It is the first of three fall tournaments for Larry Penley’s Tigers. Clemson will also compete at the Brickyard Invitational in Macon, GA October 10-12 and at the Isleworth Collegiate in Windermere, FL on October 25-27.
