Clemson Notes:

  • The Tigers (2-0) opened the 2017 season on Saturday, Jan. 21 with wins over Charlotte (7-0) and Charleston Southern (6-1) at the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center.
  • Four Tigers, sophomore Ayan Broomfield, freshman Sydney Riley, junior Daniela Ruiz and sophomore Ally Miller-Krasilnikov, went 2-0 in singles play to start the weekend.
  • Freshman Constanza Gorches picked up two doubles wins in the two matches.
  • Two Tigers are ranked in the ITA singles rankings released on Jan. 4, 2017. Broomfield is 40th and sophomore Marie-Alexandre Leduc is 84th, while together, Broomfield and Leduc are ranked 44th in the nation as a doubles duo.
  • Clemson’s 2017 roster is made up of one junior, five sophomores and two freshmen.
  • Head Coach Nancy Harris is in her 20th season with the Tigers. In her first 19 seasons at the helm of the program, Harris took the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament 17 times, including 15-consecutive years from 2002-16.

Series Information vs. Kansas:

  • Clemson and Kansas have met just three times previously in women’s tennis, but have not met since 1993. All three contests were Clemson wins.
