Clemson Men’s Soccer Falls at Elon Wednesday Night

ELON, NC – The Clemson men’s soccer team fell to Elon on a rainy Wednesday night at Rhodes Stadium by a score of 2-0. The Tigers fall to 0-4-1 with the loss, while the Phoenix improve to 2-2-1.

Elon went ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 28th minute. Erfan Imeni sent a cross from the right side to the middle and Chris Thomas hit the shot from about ten yards out for his second goal of the season.

The Phoenix scored again in the 37th minute. Justin Wyatt sent a shot through the defense to James Carroll who sent a dribbler past Joe Bendik for his first goal of the year.

Statistically, the Phoenix outshot the visting Tigers 23-4. Bendik made six saves in net for Clemson.

Clemson will play host to Virginia Tech in an Atlantic Coast Conference match on Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 PM.
