CLEMSON, S.C. — Mark Lisi and Oguchi Onyewu both scored one goal each as eighth-ranked Clemson defeated 11th-ranked Furman 2-0 in a men’s intercollegiate soccer match at Clemson, SC Wednesday night.
Clemson improves its record to 11-3-1 overall, while Furman falls to 13-3-1 this season.
The Tigers scored early in the second half (47:13) as Mark Lisi converted on a penalty kick. This was Lisi’s 11th goal of the season.
Clemson added the insurance goal at the 53:29 mark as Oguchi Onyewu scored on an assist from Kenneth Cutler. This was Onyewu’s fourth goal of the year.
The Tigers will play at Maryland on Saturday night, October 28, at 7:00 p.m. in the Tigers’ next action.
