TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Clemson women’s soccer team will play second-ranked North Carolina in the championship match of the ACC Women’s Soccer Tournament at Tallahassee, FL Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

The championship match will be televised live on Comcast, Fox Sports Net South, and the Sunshine Network.

Clemson will enter the match with a 14-6 record overall. Deliah Arrington has 18 goals and seven assists for 43 points. She is the Lady Tigers career leader for most goals (50) and points (127). Arrington has scored in five consecutive matches.

North Carolina is playing in its 15th successive ACC Tournament championship. That is every ACC Tournament championship game ever played. The Tar Heels did not win the ACC championship the first year of the ACC Tournament in 1988 as NC State captured the title in a penalty kick shootout. UNC has won all 13 championships since then.

The Tar Heels are 16-1-4 this season, 4-1-2 in the ACC.

In the first Clemson-Carolina game this year on October 12, the Tar Heels struggled in Tigertown but came back to win 2-1 in two overtimes. Clemson dominated the first half and outshot the Tar Heels 9-5 while taking a 1-0 lead. UNC came out after halftime and outshot the Tigers the rest of the match 12-1. Maggie Tomecka scored in the second half to send the game to overtime and then Lori Chalupny scored in the second overtime to win the game.
