Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson women’s tennis team won its season finale against Boston College in convincing fashion by a score of 6-1. While four of Clemson’s singles players lost their first set, the Tigers went on to take all but one of the singles matchups to earn the victory.
The doubles team Laura Marti and Ali DeSpain earned a ranked win over the No. 53 nationally-ranked Boston College duo of Marcie Aguair and Laura Lopez to help secure the doubles point for the Tigers. The win also advanced the No. 38 ranked pair to 2-0 all-time against ranked opponents.
Marti continued her successful day in singles play, where she quickly won No. 6, 6-0, 6-1, to push the Tigers out to the early 2-0 lead. At line one, Cristina Mayorova battled back from a first set defeat against the No. 107 ranked opponent to win her match, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. The victory marked the second ranked win of her career.
Lana Sipek came back from a one set deficit on Court 5 to win 5-7, 6-1, 6-2. Sophia Hatton and Mackenzy Middlebrooks also secured victories on Courts 2 and 3, respectively.

The Tigers await seeding for the ACC Tournament, which will begin on Wednesday, April 21 in Rome, Ga. The tournament bracket will be released on Sunday afternoon.
