Clemson in Top 14 in All Three Golf Polls

Clemson, S.C.—The Clemson Men’s Golf team is ranked in the top 14 of all three college golf computer rankings and polls released this week. Larry Penley’s program is 12th according to Golfweek, 14th by Golfstat and the Golfweek Coaches Association Poll. Clemson begins play in the NCAA Regional tournament in Murfreesboro, Tenn. on May 15.   The Tigers are seeded third in that regional.

Three Clemson golfers are ranked in the top 50 in the nation of the Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin computer rankings. Freshman Doc Redman, who has a team best seven top 10 finishes, is ranked 24th by Golfwee and 26th by Golfstat.   Senior Carson Young is 40th by Golfweek and 43rd by Golfstat, while Bryson Nimmer is 46th in Golfstat and 47th in Golfweek.   All three players have a scoring average under 71.0 so far this year.  

Clemson has not had three top 50 players at the end of the season since 2005-06 when Brian Duncan was 27th, Stephen Poole was 42nd and Vince Hatfield was 46th.
