Clemson, SC – Clemson is ranked third in the nation for the fifth straight week and two Tigers remain in the top six in the nation according to the latest MasterCard collegiate golf poll. Clemson trails only Georgia and Georgia Tech in the national team rankings. It is the 61st straight MasterCard poll that Larry Penley’s team has been ranked in at least the top five in the nation.
Individually, Clemson seniors John Engler and Lucas Glover remain in the top six in the nation. Engler won the ACC Tournament in April with a 203 score and moved from fifth to fourth in the nation in the individual rankings. He remains in the number-four slot this week, while his classmate, Glover, is fifth. Earlier this week, both Engler and Glover were named to the United States Palmer Cup team.
Georgia Tech’s Bryce Molder, who finished second to Engler at the ACC Tournament, is ranked first nationally. Clemson sophomore D.J. Trahan is 25th nationally.
Clemson has completed its regular season and will next be in action at the NCAA East Regional in Williamsburg, VA May 17-19.
