Clemson, S.C. – Junior goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff has been named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week in addition to junior defender Renee Guion earning honorable mention recognition, announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Hancuff, who was previously named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week this season, received national recognition after tying her career-high total with eight saves against Wake Forest on Sunday. The match against the Demon Deacons also marked the Edmond, Okla. native’s third solo shutout in her five games played in 2020. Overall, Hancuff has accumulated 436 minutes and 20 saves while holding a 4-1-0 record.
Guion, who had 12 assists in 2019, picked up her first assist of 2020 against the Demon Deacons as she aided on Mariana Speckmaier’s senior day goal from the corner spot. The Simpsonville, S.C. native recorded 70 minutes against Wake Forest en route to a 2-0 win, improving the Tigers’ record to 3-0-0 when playing at Historic Riggs Field in 2020.
The now fourth-ranked Tigers will return to action on Oct. 18 as they head to South Bend, Ind. to face No. 14, Notre Dame, in a 1 p.m. match.
