CLEMSON, SC – Lindsay Browne scored two goals and Heather Beem finished with two assists as 12th-ranked Clemson defeated UNC-Asheville 5-0 in a women’s intercollegiate soccer match at Clemson, SC Tuesday night. Clemson improves to 11-3 overall, UNC-Asheville falls to 5-8 this season.
The Lady Tigers are ranked 14th by Soccer America and 12th by the NSCAA poll. In the soccertimes.com poll, the Lady Tigers are ranked 15th, and in the soccerbuzz.com poll Clemson is ranked 14th Clemson scored at the 26:05 mark. Lindsay Browne scored her eighth goal of the season with an assist by Heather Beem. The Lady Tigers scored their second goal of the night at the 32:43 point into the game. Tatum Clowney scored her third goal of the season with an assist by Paige Ledford.
Sarah Turner scored her first career goal as a Lady Tigers at the 33:45 mark. Leigh Clark crossed the ball to Turner who sent a shot in the upper middle of the goal.
Clemson added two second half goals. Brown scored at the 55:09 mark with an assist by Beem. Jami Walker finished the scoring at the 61:45 point into the game as she scored an unassisted goal. The Lady Tigers broke the school record with 18 corner kicks in tonight’s match. Clemson will play host to Charleston Southern Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Lady Tigers’ next action.
