Clemson Diving to Compete at Georgia Diving Invitational

CLEMSON, SC – Diving Coach Leslie Hasselbach and the Clemson men’s and women’s diving teams head to Athens, GA to compete in the Georgia Diving Invitational from Sunday, January 3 to Tuesday, January 5. The competition will take place at Gabrielsen Natatorium and include 16 schools.

The event format will start with springboard prelims at 11:00 a.m. and the finals will begin 1:30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday. Then on Tuesday the divers will compete on the platform.

The field set to compete will include Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Navy, Iowa State, Penn State, Rider, Drexel, SMU and East Carolina.

On the men’s side, senior David Giambra and freshman Patrick Chamberlain will compete for the Tigers. Giambra is currently the school record holder in all three diving events. On the women’s side, sophomores Brooke George and Cassie Self will compete along with freshman Elizabeth Tatum.

Following the Georgia Diving Invite, the Clemson men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel to Chapel Hill, NC to face ACC opponent North Carolina on January 9, 2010.
