Final Stats
CLEMSON, SC – Tommy Drake, Brannon Blanke, and Austin Savage all scored two goals each in leading Clemson to a 6-0 win over North Greenville in a men’s intercollegiate soccer match at Clemson, SC Wednesday night.
With the win, Clemson improves to 3-10-1 overall, while North Greenville falls to 6-7-1 this season.
Drake and Blanke both scored goals in the first half to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Savage scored on an unassisted goal at the 53:13 mark and Blanke scored again 1:47 later for his second goal of the evening as the Tigers took a 4-0 advantage.
Late in the second half, with only three minutes left to go in regulation, Clemson finished the scoring with two goals. Savage scored at the 87:06 mark and Drake at the 87:28 point in the match, just :22 seconds apart.
The :22 seconds between the two goals is tied for fourth in the Clemson record book for the shortest time elapsed between two Tiger’s goals.
Clemson will play at N.C. State Friday night in the Tigers’ next action. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
“We played well in the second half,” said Clemson Head Coach Phil Hindson. “It took a while to get going. I thought Brannon Blanke played well tonight, as did Keegan Priest.”
