Clemson defeats Boston College 2-0

CLEMSON, SC-Hector Quintanar and Mark Buchholz both scored goals in leadin Clemson to a 2-0 win over Boston College in a men’s Atlantic Coast Conference soccer match at Clemson, SC Friday night.

With the win, Clemson improves to 8-4-3 overall and 1-4-2 in the ACC. Boston College falls to 4-7-2 overall and 0-5-2 in league play.

The Tigers scored early in the match at the 2:49 mark. Quintanar scored his third goal of the year with assists by Justin Moore and Nathan Sturgis.

Clemson scored early in the second half. Buchholz scored his fourth goal of the season with assists by Dane Richards and Alan O’Hara.

Clemson will play host to Furman on Wednesday, November 2, in the last regular-season home match of the 2005 season.

“I felt we played well,” said Clemson Head Coach Trevor Adair. “It was a good win. It was good to have Brad Gibson back in the lineup, and I think this gave us confidence. Our defense continues to play well. We have given up only one goal in the last five games.”
