Clemson Baseball to Begin Fall Practice Friday

Clemson, SC –

The Clemson baseball team will start its fall practice season on Friday with an afternoon practice at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.  The Tigers, who will also practice at home on Saturday, will then travel to Fluor Field in Greenville, SC on Sunday.  Practice on Sunday will begin at 12:30 PM, then the team will hold an intrasquad scrimmage at approximately 2:00 PM at Fluor Field.

Clemson will travel several times to Fluor Field as well as J.B. “Red” Owens Sports Complex in Easley, SC to hold practices in the fall due to the ongoing renovations at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, which includes a resurfacing of the field and reconfiguration of the bullpen areas.  Until the renovations are finished, the Tigers will hold their Doug Kingsmore Stadium practices on the field behind the batting cages at approximately 2:30 PM.

A weekly schedule of practice locations and times will be released every Monday on and Clemson’s official baseball Twitter account, @CUTigerBaseball.  Fans can also find pictures of the newly-renovated Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Instagram at @CUTigerBaseball.

The Tigers are coming off a 40-22 record in 2013 and an appearance in the Columbia (SC) Regional.  Clemson will return eight of its nine position starters and its top-four starting pitchers, including righthander Daniel Gossett, who was 10-4 with a 2.56 ERA in 98.1 innings pitched in 2013.
