Clemson, SC – Clemson’s men’s golf team will be back in action this weekend at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship in Las Vegas. The event will be played on the par 72 Southern Highlands Golf Club Course that measures 7,510 yards.
The 54-hole event will run from Friday through Sunday this weekend. Results will be available at golfstat.com.
Clemson is one of 15 teams in the field. All 15 programs are nationally prominent programs. The list of teams includes Arizona State, Arizona, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, UNLV, Wake Forest and Washington.
Clemson will bring another young team to the event. The Tigers will have a lineup that includes junior Tanner Ervin, sophomore David May, sophomore Phillip Mollica and freshmen Ben Martin and Sam Saunders.
Kyle Stanley, Clemson’s top golfer so far this year with a 71.0 average, will sit out this weekend’s event as he prepares to compete in the PGA Tour’s Arnold Palmer Invitational the following weekend.
Clemson is coming off an outstanding second place performance at the Puerto Rico Classic two weeks ago. The Tigers finished tied for second with Stanford, just one shot behind champion Georgia.
