Jan. 21, 2010

The Clemson University Athletic Department, the Clemson University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Clemson University Undergraduate Student Government, in conjunction with the Pickens County American Red Cross, will collect donations to provide to the Haiti Relief Fund at the Clemson vs. Duke men’s basketball game on Saturday, January 23.

The game between the Tigers and the Blue Devils is set to tip off at 9:00 PM on Saturday. Volunteers will be stationed in six locations around Littlejohn Coliseum and will collect donations beginning at 7:30 PM. 100% of the donations will be provided to the American Red Cross and designated for the Haiti Relief Fund.

Clemson students will have the opportunity to donate using their Tiger 1 card. Tiger 1 card donations will be accepted at the Student Gate of Littlejohn Coliseum. Check donations should be made payable to Clemson University.

Clemson Athletics has a strict no-solicitation policy in and around athletic events, but due to the nature of the disaster, the decision was made to approve this one-time exemption.
