Clemson 13th in Latest Golf World Coach Poll

Clemson, SC — Clemson is ranked 13th in the first Golf World Coaches poll of the spring season. The Tigers open play February 29 when they travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico Shootout.

Clemson is one of six ACC schools ranked in the top 25. Georgia Tech is ranked eighth and is the highest ranked school from the league, while Florida State is 10th, and Duke is ranked 12th. In addition to Clemson’s #13 ranking, Wake Forest is 19th and North Carolina is 25th.

Clemson closed the fall with a pair of second place performances in strong fields. The Tigers second at The Brickyard Invitational with a 25 under par team score of 839, then finished second at the Isleworth Collegiate in Windermere, FL with a two-under par score.

Clemson was led in the fall in terms of scoring average by sophomore Sam Saunders who had a 72.55 stroke average. All-American Kyle Stanley was second at 72.78.
