Carmina Giraldo in ITA All-American Championships

Pacific Palisades, CA – Women’s tennis Tiger Camina Giraldo competed in the ITA All-American Championships held in Pacific Palisades, Calif., Thursday through Sunday. The Championships are the second leg of the ITA Grand Slam and were held at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Giraldo was defeated in the first round 7-6(2), 6-2 by Kim Niggemeyer of Fresno State. Arizona’s Lindsay Blau defeated Giraldo in a tough three-setter 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(6) in the first round of the consolation bracket.

Giraldo, a junior from Columbia, South America, finished the 1999-2000 season with a 29-8 singles record and was the ACC flight champion for number one singles.
