CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jenna Thompson and Samantha Buyckx opened competition for Clemson at the Charlotte Invite on Friday. The pair played two doubles matches and a singles match each.
The two played as a pair four times last season, splitting those matches 2-2. On Friday against the No. 19 pair in the nation, Charlotte’s Quiterio/Maquet, Buyckx and Thompson came up with a dominant 6-2 victory.
The win marked their first ranked victory together, and it came in their first match against a ranked opponent.
