CLEMSON, S.C. – Megan Bornkamp has been named to the 2023 D1 Defenders to Watch list, as announced by United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.
This marks the second season that the senior defender has been named to the watchlist, as Bornkamp continues to blaze a trail for Clemson Women’s Soccer.
Preseason watchlists are nothing new for Bornkamp, as the Tiger was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy List and the Preseason All-ACC Team in the 2022 season.
Bornkamp ended the 2022 campaign with two assists and four total points, as the Mooresville, N.C. native has tallied 51 career points as a Tiger. Bornkamp was also a member of the 2023 U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team.
Bornkamp and the No. 25 Tigers open their season on August 17th at Historic Riggs Field as they host No. 12 South Carolina. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m
