CLEMSON, S.C. – Junior defender Megan Bornkamp was named to the preseason All-ACC team on Thursday. Bornkamp was named a third-team All-American and First-Team All-ACC selection at the conclusion of the 2021 season.
Bornkamp led the Tigers in goals (10) and points (30) last season. The defender is incredibly efficient on set pieces, coming up to attack.
Her performance throughout the season earned many recognitions. In addition to all-conference and All-American honors, Bornkamp was named United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-Atlantic Region, ACC All-Tournament team, preseason All-ACC, All-ACC Academic Team and CoSIDA Academic All-District in 2021. Bornkamp will lead the Tigers’ backline and will look to have another impressive season in the 2022 campaign.
The No. 25 Tigers open their season on Aug. 18 at Historic Riggs Field against Texas A&M. Kickoff for that match is slated for 7 p.m.
