CLEMSON, S.C. – Freshman outfielder Seth Beer (Suwanee, Ga.) was named national hitter-of-the-month for March by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on Monday. Beer hit .431 (25-for-58) while hitting safely in all 17 games during the month.
Beer also totaled nine homers, six doubles, 21 RBIs, 19 runs, 11 walks, three hit-by-pitches, a .527 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage in March.
The Tiger standout is riding a 24-game hitting streak, tied for sixth longest in school history. On the season, he is batting .422 with 12 homers, eight doubles, 34 RBIs, 28 runs, a .522 on-base percentage and .911 slugging percentage in 26 games.
