CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson men’s soccer defender Charlie Asensio earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors for his play during the 2018 regular season, as voted on by ACC coaches and announced by the conference on Wednesday.
The Roswell, Ga. native was a staple on the Tigers’ back line during the 2018 campaign, playing in all 16 of Clemson’s regular season matches, 15 of which he started. His 1,378 minutes were third-most on the team, ranking only behind the time seen by captains Patrick Bunk-Andersen and Tanner Dieterich. Asensio was also one of 11 Tigers to record an assist, feeding a ball from the left side to Quinn McNeill in front of the net and setting up Clemson’s lone score against Pitt.
