Final Stats
SPARTANBURG, SC-Allison Graham scored midway in the first half in leading Clemson to a 1-0 win over Wofford in a women’s intercollegiate soccer match at Spartanburg, SC Sunday afternoon.
With the win, Clemson improves to 5-2-1 overall, while Wofford falls to 1-6 this season.
Graham scored at the 27:25 mark. Lydia Vandenbergh sent a pass from the middle to Graham. Graham’s 25-yard shot went in the right center of the goal for her team-leading fourth goal of the season. Vandenbergh now has three assists for the year.
“I am pleased with the result,” said Clemson Head Coach Todd Bramble. “We had great scoring opportunities in the first half and I thought we would have more breathing room in the second half. Since we played Friday night, I felt we ran out of gas in the final 15 minutes and we managed the clock well for the final few minutes. Britten Meyer played another solid game. She keeps the defense well organized.”
The Lady Tigers will have two ACC home matches in the next few days. Clemson will play host to Maryland on Thursday, September 22, at 7:00 p.m. Clemson will also play host to Boston College next Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
