CLEMSON, SC – The 18th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team took an important step toward a first-round ACC Tournament bye with a 7-0 victory against Wake Forest on Saturday at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. The Tigers (14-8, 7-3 ACC) moved alone into fourth place in the ACC, while Wake Forest (3-16, 0-10 ACC) stayed winless in league play. Clemson played the match in front of several alumni as part of a Reunion Weekend. The Tigers appear to be getting hot at the right time as they close down the regular season on Sunday with Senior Day at noon against NC State. The Tigers have now won three in a row, dropping just one individual match in that period, winning by a combined 20-1 score. Clemson swept the Demon Deacons in doubles, with Klara Vyskkocilova and Hoke Sloan Tennis Center – Clemson, SCDoubles:1. #15 Bek/Wong def. Duncan/Cutillo (WF), 8-52. Gumulya/Koelzer (CU) def.
