Swimmers And Divers Participating in Offseason Conditioning Program

Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson swimmers have built up to running five miles and swimming 5,000 yards in the last five Saturdays. The Tigers run one mile around an on-campus route then quickly take their shoes off and jump into the pool for a 1,000 yard swim. The Clemson swimmers showed their competitive side as they repeated the workout five times and fought their way to the finish each Saturday. In the most recent timed workout on September 21, 2000, James Stoffer was the highest finishing male with a time of 1:33.08. Courtney Ellis led the women’s swim team and finished third overall with a time of 1:34.30.

The Tiger divers are also getting ready for the 2000- 2001 season. They have been working very hard in the pool and in the weight room. Collectively, the eight divers have learned 18 new dives in the past four weeks. Way to go, Tiger Divers!
