CLEMSON, S.C. – Mandy Commons and the Tiger 200 medley relay team have qualified for Friday evening’s finals at the NCAA Women’s Swimming Championships. The finals are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday night at the Nassau Aquatic Center.
Commons qualified for the consolation finals in the 100 breast with a time of 1:02.85 in the preliminaries held this morning. The 200 medley relay team comprised of Commons, Elise Thieler, Patty Hider and Lindsey Kroeger also advanced to the consolation finals after recording a time of 1:42.90 in the preliminaries. Thieler also competed in the 100 fly this morning, finishing 21st with a time of 55.31.
The meet continues tonight with the finals of the 200 medley relay, 400 individual medley, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back. The 2001 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championships conclude Saturday.
