No. 18 Tigers Draw 3-3 With Virginia Tech In the Final Regular Season Match

CLEMSON, S.C. – Wahabu Musah, Mason Jimenez and Abdou Mane all netted a goal for the Tigers in a 3-3 draw with Virginia Tech (7-3-5). Clemson moves to 8-4-3 on the year and 4-2-2 in the ACC.

Wahabu Musah got the night started with a chip in the back left of the goal with assists from Remi Okunlola and Nathan Richmond in the 21′ to put Clemson up 1-0. The Hokies evened things up in the 43′ with a goal to move the score to 1-1 heading into halftime.

Abdou Mane wasn’t going let the goal from Virginia Tech go unanswered for long coming out for the second half. Mane netted his first career goal with a shot to the middle of the goal off an assist from Misei Yoshizawa and Okunlola in the 49′ to give Clemson the 2-1 lead. A foul on Virginia Tech led to a penalty kick for the Tigers and Mason Jimenez made the Hokies pay. Jimenez shot the ball right past the Hokies’ goal keeper and widened the lead to 3-1 in the 62′. Virginia Tech scored in the 66′ to bring the score within one. In the 68′ the Hokies netted a goal to tie the match 3-3.
