CLEMSON, SC – The 10th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team will take on #13 Florida State in an ACC showdown on Sunday at noon at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. The Tigers (12-3, 1-1 ACC) have won eight straight matches against the Noles (5-5), and hold a 25-8 all-time mark against Florida State.
Admission is free, and LiveStats are available at Clemsontigers.com.
Clemson is in the midst of a five match streak against top 25 foes, of which Clemson has gone 3-1 so far, including a 6-1 win over #20 South Florida on Friday. The Tigers dropped the doubles point but rebounded to win all six singles matches against the Bulls. The Tigers have beaten eight ranked teams this season, including five in the top-25, and are 7-0 at home this season.
Florida State features two ranked players, #46 Lauren McCreless and #115 Katie Rybakova.
Clemson will counter with #24 Ina Hadziselimovic and Estefania Balda, and junior Laurianne Henry, already an ACC Performer-of-the-Week this season.
Additionally, Bek and Hadziselimovic are ranked 14th nationally, and Hadziselimovic and Wong come in at #29.
Last season, Clemson won in Tallahassee, 5-1, as weather forced the cancellation of doubles play. The current Tigers (Bek, Wong, Hadziselimovic) earned singles victories last year in the match.
This will be Clemson’s final match before Spring break, as they will take on Columbia in Boca Raton, FL on March 16. The Tigers will return home March 27 and 28 as they take on NC State and Wake Forest.
