Three Tigers Listed in ITA Preseason Rankings, Qualify for ITA All-American

CLEMSON, S.C. – Three members of the Clemson women’s tennis team, Ayan Broomfield, Fernanda Navarro and Marie-Alexandre Leduc, were listed in the preseason singles rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Tuesday. The same three Tigers also qualified to compete in the qualification rounds of the 2016 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. in October.

Broomfield, a sophomore from Toronto, Canada, is ranked 46th in the ITA’s preseason singles rankings, while Navarro, a sophomore from Guadalajara, Mexico, is 119th. Leduc, a native of Saguenay, Quebec who sat out the 2015-16 season, is listed at 10th in the ITA Newcomer/Freshman rankings.

All three Tigers qualified to compete at the 2016 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships, which will be held in Pacific Palisades, Calif. from Oct. 1-9. Leduc and Navarro will be in the pre-qualifying singles draw, beginning Oct. 1, while Broomfield made the qualifying singles draw and will begin play on Oct. 4. All three Tigers will be competing to make the main draw of the event, which is held from Oct. 6-9.
