KNOXVILLE, TENN. – Tennessee defeated Clemson in a 16-inning scrimmage at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Volunteers won the scrimmage by a score of 10-2.
James Parker walked and scored on a balk in the fourth inning to tie the score 1-1, but Tennessee responded with two unearned runs in the bottom half. Zach Daniels launched a two-run homer in the seventh inning to cap a three-run inning, giving the Volunteers a 7-1 lead.
Elijah Henderson highlighted the offensive attack for the Tigers collecting two doubles, a single and run. Drew Donathan added two hits, including an RBI single in the eighth inning.
Sam Weatherly, Nick Clayton, Connor O’Rear, Geoffrey Gilbert and Nick Hoffmann all recorded scoreless outings for the Tigers.
