1999 ACC Track and Field Championships

CLEMSON, S.C.-The 1999 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the Rock Norman Track Complex on Clemson’s campus April 16-17. Admission is free, and parking is available in the parking lot beside the Jervey Athletic Center, the parking lot on the east side of the track and on Jervey Meadows.

Clemson won the men’s outdoor meet for the second consecutive season last year, scoring 194 points. North Carolina was second with 178 points, and N.C. State was third with 123 points. David Krummenacker of Georgia Tech and Shawn Crawford of Clemson were named Meet Co-MVPs, and Clemson head coach Bob Pollock was honored as the ACC Coach of the Year.

North Carolina junior Kevin Crittendon is looking for his third-straight championship in the triple jump, and Virginia senior Larry Wilson is striving for his third-straight title in the discus. Tar Heel senior Allen Bradd has won the shot put the last two seasons.

The North Carolina women’s program won its seventh-consecutive outdoor title at last year’s meet, scoring 187 points. Clemson placed second with 148 points, followed by Florida State at 97.5 points. Andria King of Georgia Tech was named Meet MVP, and Tar Heels Dennis Craddock was honored as ACC Coach of the Year.

Virginia senior Angela Lee is looking to become only the third athlete in the history of the ACC Outdoor Meet to win an event four years in a row. She has won the 400m hurdles each of the last three seasons. N.C. State senior Jackie Coscia has won the 10,000m the last two years, and North Carolina senior Nicole Gamble has won the triple jump each of the last two seasons.
