Clemson, SC – The 18th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team will host #23 Georgia Tech on Thursday in the team’s ACC home opener. Senior Julie Coin leads the Tigers this season at the number one singles position. The Amiens, France native is currently ranked #3 in the ITA singles poll and is 18-2 overall.
Thursday’s match will be the 25th meeting between the two schools, with the Tigers leading the series 21-3. Clemson has won the last three meetings, including the 2004 contest in Atlanta, GA by a score of 4-3. The Tigers also hold an 8-2 advantage in matches played on their home court. The last meeting in Clemson was in 2003 and the Tigers were the victors with a 4-3 win.
Clemson is 1-0 in conference matches played this season as they defeated Virginia Tech in Blacksburg by a score of 6-1 on Jan. 29. The team has a 5-5 overall record.
The Tigers and Yellow Jackets will take to the court for a 2:30 pm start time.
