#17 Clemson Will Play at #10 Wake Forest Friday Night

CLEMSON, SC – The 17th-ranked Clemson men’s soccer team will play 10th-ranked Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, NC Friday night in a key Atlantic Coast Conference match at Spry Stadium. Clemson has an 8-2-1 record overall, and a 3-2-1 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  Clemson is coming off a 2-1 victory over sixth-ranked North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC Tuesday night. The Tigers are led in scoring by Thomas McNamara with six goals and five assists for 17 points.  Ara Amirkhanian, who scored the game-winner in the North Carolina match, has six goals and one assist for 13 points. Wake Forest has a 6-2-3 mark overall and a 4-0-2 record in league play.  Andy Lubahn has three goals and four assist for 10 points.  Teammate Sean Okoli has four goals and one assist for nine points. This will be the 39th meeting between Clemson and Wake Forest on the soccer field.  The Demon Deacons lead the series 18-16-4.  The last Clemson victory in the series was on November 30, 2002.  In that match, Clemson upset the number-one ranked Demon Deacons 2-1 in Winston-Salem, NC in the NCAA Tournament.
