CLEMSON, SC – The 14th-ranked Clemson women’s tennis team will welcome the Troy University Trojans to the Clemson Indoor Tennis Center on Wednesday at 2:30 pm. The Tigers are off to a 2-0 start, while the Trojans enter at 1-1 on the young season.

Clemson took down two nationally-ranked opponents in #68 College of Charleston, 7-0, and #43 VCU, 5-2, during the weekend. Clemson won the doubles point in both affairs, and won at spots one through four in each match as well.
Three Tigers are currently ranked in #9 Ina Hadziselimovic, all of whom started 2-0 on the season. Hadziselimovic posted perhaps the most impressive win of the weekend, besting #102 Kinsey Casey of Charleston, 6-0, 6-1 at flight three. She and sophomore Keri Wong also beat the 44th-ranked duo, 8-3 to help clinch to doubles point.
The Trojans fell to #32 Florida International by a 5-2 margin, but defeated Florida Gulf Coast, 4-3, in their first action of the season.
Clemson head coach Nancy Harris welcomes the team from Alabama, where she coached at nearby Auburn University-Montgomery, leading them to three national championships. The Tigers are 4-0 all-time against the Trojans, most recently playing in 2008, a 6-1 Tiger victory.
After the match with the Trojans, Clemson will welcome three nationally-ranked foes for the first two rounds of the prestigious ITA Kick-Off Weekend, which feeds into the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, one of the “Grand Slams” of college tennis. Clemson will square off with #37 Texas A&M at 2:00 pm on Saturday, and the winner will go on to play the winner of the #21 Mississippi vs. #33 Illinois match, which takes place at 9:00 am Saturday.
