CLEMSON, S.C. – The 13th-seeded women’s tennis team will play fourth-seeded Duke (26-4) in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Team Championships in Athens, Ga. on Thursday at 7 p.m. It will be the third meeting of the season between the teams, with Thursday’s match at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex representing a rubber match. Clemson (22-6) defeated then No. 1 Duke, 4-3 on April 17, before Duke upended Clemson, 4-0, in the ACC Championships on April 25. The Tigers advanced after winning home matches over UNCW (4-0) and Auburn (5-0) this past weekend. This will be Clemson’s 12th NCAA match in Athens all-time, which includes runs to the National Semifinals in 2004 and 2005. The Tigers and Devils have met just once in NCAA history, a 5-0 Duke win in the Round of 16 in 1993 in Gainesville, Fla.
