CLEMSON, SC – Clemson senior Yannick Maden has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 Team as announced by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) on Friday.

Maden, who played number-one singles and number-one doubles for the Tigers in 2013, graduated last week with a degree in economics with a minor in financial management.  He has a near 4.0 GPA during his career and finished Clemson in just three years.   The native of Stuttgart, Germany will participate in the NCAA Singles tournament next week.  Also Maden along with his brother Dominique Maden will play in the NCAA Doubles tournament.  Both events will be held  on May 22-27 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex/Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana, Illinois.   It marks the first time since the 2006 season that Clemson men’s tennis players have received bids to play in the NCAA Individual Singles and Doubles Tournaments.  Yannick Maden is ranked 23rd nationally in singles.  He is now 25-8 overall in singles and 19-5 in dual matches at number-one singles.   The doubles team of Yannick Maden and Dominique Maden is ranked 11th in the nation according to the latest poll.  The Maden’s are now 23-6 on the year, and have a 13-3 mark in dual matches.   Last weekend they upset the nation’s number-one ranked doubles team of Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese from Tennessee, 9-8 in the second round of the NCAA Team Tournament.   Maden is now eligible to be named to the Capital One Academic All-America Team to be announced in the next two weeks.
