GREENSBORO, NC (theACC.com) – Clemson senior Yannick Maden has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers went 2-0 last week with wins over William & Mary, 4-0, and UNC-Wilmington, 5-2, while Maden went 4-0 on the week in both singles and double play. Against The Tribe, Maden, ranked No. 57 in the latest ITA singles poll, topped Anton Andersson, 6-2, 7-5 and earned an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles. Against UNC-Wilmington, Maden and his brother Dominique Maden started the day with a win an 8-2 upset win over No. 15 Kosta Blank and Chris Coopride at the top doubles slot. The Maden brothers are ranked 20th nationally by the ITA poll as a doubles team. Maden followed that with a 6-2, 6-4 win over No. 22 Rafael Aita at number-one singles. The Stuttgart, Germany, native owns an 11-1 dual singles mark this spring. Maden is 17-4 overall in singles play. This is his first player of the week honor.
