STILLWATER, O.K. — Clemson women’s tennis dropped its first match of the season on Saturday, falling to No. 4 Oklahoma State, 4-0, at the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
In doubles, Clemson battled hard, highlighted by a victory from the No. 75 pairing of Romana Cisovska and Candela Yecora. The duo secured a 6-4 win against Oklahoma State’s Kylie Collins and Gracie Epps. However, Oklahoma State clinched the doubles point with wins at court one and three.
Clemson faced tough competition in singles play as Oklahoma State sealed the match with victories on courts two, three, and five. Cisovska and Sophia Hatton fought hard in their respective matches but ultimately fell to ranked opponents. Three matches—on court one, four, and six—remained unfinished when Oklahoma State secured the fourth point.
Freshman Gaia Parravicini pushed her opponent to a tiebreaker in the first set on court five, showing resilience despite falling 7-6 (7-3), 6-2. Freshman Artemis Aslanisvili was in a strong position in her singles match, leading 5-4 in the second set after taking the first when play was halted.
