Women’s Volleyball Rolls over N.C. State in ACC Opener

September 25, 1998

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team defeated N.C. State, 15-9, 15-8, 15-9, to open the ACC season on Friday night at Jervey gym.

Clemson out hit N.C. State .301 to .144 in the match, picking up nine service aces and ten blocks. The Wolfpack had three service aces and six blocks.

Junior Alison Coday led the Tigers, hitting .565 for the evening with 16 kills, three errors and 23 attempts. Junior Skye Frost hit .360 (11 kills, two errors, 25 attempts) and had three service aces and ten digs for Clemson.

N.C. State (10-3) was led by Laura Kimbrell, who hit .214 with 10 kills, four errors and 28 total attacks. She had 11 digs to pace the Wolfpack.

Clemson (8-3) will face Florida State Saturday at 6 p.m. in Jervey Gym. The first 500 fans will receive a free t-shirt.
